Why Dogs?
My lady explains it best...
"It occurred to me, after we lost Rachel to bone cancer, that I had very few pictures of her. Sure, we had the photos that the vets asked us to take; pre-op and post-operative... but I had very few that showed her glorious spirit, her true beauty. She was a beautiful dog, with an intensity that I'd never experienced before. Perhaps it was her breed, but I really believe it was her soul. When I enlarged two slide photographs Dennis had taken of Rachel on their explorations together, I was stunned to see tremendous depth in her expressions. Dennis had captured the "essence" of who Rachel was. Rachel spoke through those photos. She was as alive and vibrant as ever.
I named the images "Intensity" and "Eyes of The Soul" and both now adorn my bedroom and warm my heart. Until then, Dennis had been photographing just wildlife and landscapes, but these stirring images of Rachel demanded he extend his talent to dogs. When he introduced the two dog portraits as Limited Editions, they immediately became popular pieces among collectors of his prints.
Dennis's passion for animals comes through in the photographs he takes, as does the special character of each dog. "Intensity" and "Eyes of The Soul" are perfect examples of Dennis' keen eye for exquisite beauty and emotionally evocative moments. It was those very images that inspired his "Dogs In Natural Light Collection", featured only on this website.
May you find something that touches your heart... "
